- Both = ทั้งคู่ (ใช้ขยายนามนับได้พหูพจน์ที่มีเพียงสองเท่านั้น)
ex. Both babies are healthy. = ทารกทั้งคู่แข็งแรง
- ปกติ both และ both of ที่ตามด้วยคำนาม สามารถใช้แทนกันได้
แต่ถ้ามันตามด้วย personal pronoun (เช่น them
, us ,you ) ต้องใช้ both of
ex. Both (of) my parents like cycling.
= ทั้งพ่อและแม่ของฉันชอบขี่จักรยาน
Both of them are sent to study abroad.
= พวกเขาทั้งสองคนถูกส่งไปเรียนเมืองนอก
