คือ คำที่ใช้เชื่อมระหว่างคำนามหรือคำสรรพนามกับคำอื่นๆในประโยค
ex. The phone on
the table is expensive. ( เชื่อมระหว่าง นาม-นาม )
She lives in Tokyo. ( เชื่อมระหว่าง กริยา-นาม )
**หมายเหตุ**
คำที่วางไว้หลัง prep. ต้องเป็นกรรม ex. I went with them. (ไม่ใช้ they)

Preposition of Time
ได้แก่ in , on , at , by , to , for , from , since , during , throughout , between , before , about , after , through , until/till
1. in
- ใช้กับ เดือน,ปี,ฤดูกาล ex. in July , in 2008 , in summer
- ใช้กับ ช่วงเวลา
ex. in two weeks , in six
decades , in an hour
- ใช้กับ เวลาในอนาคตได้ แปลว่า ภายใน…
ex. Hurry! The train lwaves in
ten minutes.
สำนวนที่ใช้กับ in
in time = ทันเวลา
in the present = ในปัจจุบัน
in the mean time = ในช่วงนี้,ในระหว่างนี้
in the past = ในอดีต
in no time = ฉับพลันทันที
**หมายเหตุ**
1.) ถ้าการบอกเวลามีวันที่อยู่ด้วยต้องใช้ on
ex. on December 5
2.) ถ้ามีวัน ไปขยายข้อความอื่นต้องใช้ on นำหน้า ex. on
Monday morning
3.) ถ้ามีคำขยาย every,next,last, วางอยู่ข้างหน้า ไม่ใช้ prep. ใดๆทั้งสิ้น
ex. every Tuesday ไม่ใช่ on

during + Noun = ระหว่าง

While ต่างจาก During ตรงที่

3. บอกวัตถุประสงค์
- For ex. I made this card for my mom.
(=ฉันทำการ์ดใบนี้เพื่อแม่ของฉัน)

- From ex. She died from venereal disease.
(=หล่อนเสียชีวิตจากโรคกามโรค)
